Your voice stays home.

Most dictation apps ask you to trust their servers. Magana is built so there's nothing to trust — your audio never leaves your Mac. Here are the receipts.

The short version: your audio is transcribed on your Mac and never transmitted. Only finished text can optionally go to one AI service for polish — and you can turn that off. Your history lives in a file on your machine, readable only by you. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Your voice

When you hold the key and speak, the microphone records only for as long as your finger is down. The recording goes straight to a speech model running on your Mac's own silicon, is transcribed there, and is then discarded. The audio is never written to disk and never sent anywhere. There is no server that could leak it, because there is no server.

The cleanup pass

After transcription, Magana can polish your words — removing the ums, false starts, and second thoughts. When this uses Claude (Anthropic's AI), only the finished text transcript is sent — never audio, and never your name, screen contents, or anything else. Prefer fully offline? Switch cleanup to offline mode and nothing leaves your Mac at all — dictation keeps working.

Your history

Every dictation is saved to a private file on your own Mac so you can browse and copy past dictations from the dashboard. The file is readable only by your user account. It never syncs to a cloud unless you put it in one. Delete the file and the history is gone — it exists nowhere else.
